MICHAEL R. COTE
MICHAEL R. COTE, D.D.
My dear Sisters in Christ:
Throughout October, the annual membership appeal for the Norwich
Diocesan Council of Catholic women is being conducted. I urge
every woman to become a member of this wonderful church affiliated
organization. By doing so you will join women throughout
this Diocese in giving witness to your faith. You will foster
Catholic social values for women.
Your participation as a member of the Council can help make
it a strong, vital force in promoting justice and in supporting
charitable programs for the needy. Your membership also enables
it to enrich the spiritual life of our diocesan family.
In this day, when some of the most difficult issues facing
us concern women as persons and their role in the Church, as well
as in society as a whole, it is important for Catholic women to
consider these issues in the light of the teaching of our Faith
and to respond to them with hope and courage. It is also important
that we promote this membership drive in order to have a women’s
organization whose voice can have an influence and an impact in
our community.
May God bless with success our campaign to involve the women
of our Diocese in the prayer, work and support of the Norwich Diocesan
Council of Catholic Women.
Through the intercession of Our Lady of Good Counsel, our
Diocesan Council’s Patroness, may the Lord bless you and your
loved one always.
Sincerely
yours in Christ,

Bishop
of Norwich
