‘Drive for Life” Campaign
September 22-23, 2007
Support women facing unwanted pregnancies by placing a “Choose Life” license plate on your vehicle. Funds raised from the plate are used to promote adoption, support pregnancy care centers, maternity homes, and safe havens for babies facing abandonment. Women in Connecticut need alternatives to abortion.
The Children First Foundation is the official sponsor of the “Choose Life” license plate in Connecticut. Sadly , there are approximately 12,000 abortions performed every year in Connecticut – roughly 1,000 a month. The goal of the “Choose Life” plate is to provide women with the help and support they need to consider adoption as a positive alternative. Throughout the country, similar license plates have raised over $6 million to help achieve this goal within the past six years.
Applications are available at the entrances to the church. You must register as a member of The Children First Foundation to obtain the plate. Once you register the Foundation will send your application to the Department of Motor Vehicles, who will then send you a license plate. The membership fee is primarily used to fund the services supported by the Foundation. You can specifically designate funds to Catholic Charities pregnancy and adoption services by putting “CCN” in the field entitled “Org. I.D. Number” on the application. Membership information is not shared with any other organization. More information on this program, including the application, is available on the Connecticut Catholic Conference website www.ctcatholic.org.
Please read the flyer in today’s bulletin. A workshop entitled “CALLED TO PROTECT FOR PARENTS and FAMILIES” will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 27th, 2007 in the Hall.
