Monsignor Bride will leave Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Quaker Hill, and begin his pastorate in Christ the King Parish in Old Lyme, this Wednesday, September 12th.
On this Tuesday night, September 11th, the 6th Anniversary of the terrorist attack in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania Monsignor will celebrate the very special Mass of Remembrance, Renewal and Rededication at 5:00 P.M. On September 11th, 2001, the parishioners of OLPH came to Church and celebrated and prayed together for the victims, for the USA and for an end to terrorism and for Peace. This parish will never forget how special that Mass was. Each year since that awful day, our parish has joined together to begin another year of Church activities on that day. Each year we pray for God’s grace and hope that the new year which begins each September will be blessed by the Lord as an opportunity for grace, for prayer, for knowledge and for activities which will advance the Kingdom of God in this parish family.
A very special parish supper follows in the hall. This year, especially, we need this time together as we face the future and pray for God’s grace to show us the way forward as a parish family. All are invited and there is no charge.
After the dust has settled, we will have a farewell party for Monsignor here. We need for him to get us a date which will be convenient for all of us to say thank you and good wishes as each of us faces the future.
