 STEWARDSHIP SUNDAY
This is the last Sunday of our 2007 Stewardship Appeal in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Quaker Hill. This is our annual appeal to parishioners to help us meet the ever-growing expenses we face. With every expense rising, how can we meet the expenses if each of us does not seek to assist in meeting these critical needs?
Stewardship is a community effort.  It needs the assistance of everyone.  Because if everyone does his or her share, then the parish will be able to meet its expenses. We will have worked together and that is good.
This week:

  1. Please use the special envelope sent to you in the mail.
  2. If you have already increased your weekly offering, then just use the envelope and mark the amount that you did increase.
  3. Please pray that our parish will meet the

challenges facing it now and in the future.

  1. Please make every effort to remain steadfast in keeping you pledge throughout the year.

God bless each of you for your generosity.
God Bless our Lady of Perpetual Help parish!

Pastoral Sharing

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Greetings of Peace.

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of Christ The King.  The Church instituted the Solemnity of Christ The King in 1925 to counteract the growing atheism and secularism of the time.  For this reason, the Solemnity is all the more relevant to our atheistic and materialistic world today.  We need to affirm the sovereignty of Christ over persons, families, society, state, and the whole universe.
Jesus did come to establish a kingdom.  His kingdom is different from earthly kingdom.  A Kingdom  of Love, a  Kingdom of Peace, a Kingdom of Mercy and Compassion.
These are the two qualities required to enter the Kingdom of Christ – to have him as our King: love God and people with our whole heart, our whole mind, and our whole soul.  If we want to be ready to meet him when he comes in clouds of glory, we must be ready to meet him in the least of our brothers and sisters.

God Bless you.
Fr. Mariadas J. Lipton
