From the desk of Monsignor Bride
We celebrate today the great Solemnity
of the Most Holy Trinity. This is the foundation of our Faith. It is the mystery around which our religion is rooted. Why?
Because this is God’s revelation to us about Himself! He has revealed Himself to us. He has made known his essence, his being, his life, his person, his nature. We would never be able to understand “Trinity” if the Lord himself had not made himself known to us.
So often we meet people, we hear discussed, we even state our own opinion about God. We try to understand what He is, who He is? We think He is removed from us. We think he doesn’t care about us. Or we think we are on our own.
Yet, when we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, we are celebrating the life, the essence, the Revelation that God had made known to us.
Sometimes we feel abandoned. Sometimes we feel we are alone. Sometimes we feel that God has forgotten us or perhaps never remembered us. But when we come to the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, we realize that that cannot be true.
God has loved us so much, God has thought so much about us, and God thinks so highly of us that He chooses to make himself known to us. God teaches us that there are three persons in God. Each is co-equal, co-eternal. Yet, each is distinct. Each one is separate and yet united: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Because each of us as human beings is separate, alone, individual, we think of God as being like us. Yet, that is not true.
The Father has sent the Son into the world to redeem the world. The Father and the Son send the Holy Spirit into the world to empower the world, to assist the world, to help the world recall and to function according to the will of God.
We are united with God through his grace, through his life, through his spirit, through all that He is.
This is the life of God. It is our life and we celebrate it, we proclaim it, we rejoice in it every time we recall Trinity, every time we make the sign of the cross every time we invoke the blessing of God.
Here God speaks to us, God reveals himself to us, and God unites himself with us. He is not a far off being in the sky. He is here, he is present, he is with us. He loves us.

June is the month set aside for devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Jesus knew and loved each of us and all of us during his earthly life, during his agony, and during his passion and death. He gave his life for us. He has also loved us all with a divine love. The Heart of Christ is the chief sign and symbol of that love. Our divine redeemer continually loves his Father and continually loves all humanity. We rejoice in and honor that love the rest of June. The Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is Friday, June 15th. Come to Mass that day. Renew your devotion to the Sacred Heart. Pray at the Crusade of Prayer for Vocations. This is very special.
