       Message from Father Joe

Dear Friends,

It is with great pleasure that I advise you of our very successful Annual Bishop’s Appeal. Our parish family has exceeded our parish goal by over 131 %. Over $52,000 has been pledged or donated to the Appeal. This will benefit many people in need throughout our diocese which spans the four eastern counties of Connecticut.

As a whole, our Diocesan family has achieved 92% of their campaign goal which is $3,400,000.  The returns are still coming in to the Office of Development in Norwich. As your pastor, I appreciate your response to this very necessary appeal. The generosity of our Catholic people, here and through the country for those in need, is unmatched by any other religious congregation in the world. We have responded to the social dimension of the Gospel.

On Tuesday evening, our parish was graced with the visit of Bishop Michael Cote who ordained Karl Christopher Schuh to the Order of Deacon. Next year, God willing, he will be ordained to the Priesthood for service in our diocese. I want to thank all of our parishioners who participated in the liturgy and reception. The Ladies Guild and Family Group who organized the reception. The giftedness and generosity of our choir, ushers and altar servers as they sang, served and welcomed all of our guests for this special celebration.

God Bless you Rev. Mr. Christopher Schuh.

Care Net Baby Bottles for Life 2008 should be turned or as soon as possible.  Thank you for your generosity.

Do you want to be an Altar Server?
Any Student, 3rd grade and up, who is interested in being an Altar Server, should please call the rectory at 443-1875.

CRUSADE OF PRAYER has ended for the summer.

Jesus knew and loved each of us and all of us during his earthly life, during his agony, and during his passion and death.  He gave his life for us. He has also loved us all with a divine love. The Heart of Christ is the chief sign and symbol of that love. Our divine redeemer continually loves his Father and continually loves all humanity. We rejoice in and honor that love the rest of June.
