Saint Francis of Assisi
Two weeks ago, Pope Benedict XVI visited Assisi and celebrated a Papal Mass beginning the celebration of the 800th Anniversary of the ‘conversion’ of Saint Francis from a life of wealth and power to that of a ‘humble servant.’ Recently, I was given the DVD Movie, “Brother Son, Sister Moon” which is the story of Saint Francis’ Conversion and also of Saint Claire  If you are interested in seeing this wonderful movie in our hall on some summer night, please speak to Monsignor and let him know your intentions. We have a beautiful new “50” inch DVD player. It would be a wonderful experience and a very worthwhile viewing, in the midst of some awful public movies today.  Please…let me know.
(I will supply the popcorn.)

Question:
Why does the priest wear green in Ordinary Time.
Answer:
Green is the color of hope.  Green is the color of new hope in springtime…new life. It is what happens to the soul when a person accepts the death, resurrection of Jesus. It gets new life, new hope. Nature teaches us a great deal. The new life of green plants in the springtime is the same as new life in our soul as a result of the life and message of Jesus Christ.

The Sanctuary Lamp will burn this week for
