There is plenty of action around our parish campus! One of the great gifts I received when I was assigned to be Pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help was a ten year plan put together by the Parish and Finance Council. Through much hard work and planning the ten year plan was developed to ensure our entire campus, both buildings and property, are maintained and repaired on a systematic basis.
As usual, there are many individuals whose talents and expertise made the plan and its execution successful. The Parish Family Group has enlisted volunteers to lead, work on and complete some of these projects. Since springtime, there is a new roof on the convent,
thanks to the Ladies Guild; the flag pole has been repaired and painted; the rectory is in the process of being repainted after many years; the land and grass near the rectory has been restored caused by the construction of the new sewer line last fall; and, the parking lots are under repair, re-sealing and re-lining. This repair of the parking lot will increase its life span, improve safety and prevent an entire re-surfacing.
Thanks to the generosity of our parishioners over time, we have the funds necessary to complete this work. The voluntary work done by parishioners has made these projects very cost effective! The life of a parish community, if it is to be vibrant, demands the commitment and the involvement of many people. What makes Our Lady of Perpetual Help such a lively community of faith is the dedication and commitments of so many of our people. Thanks to all our volunteers who have given extensively of themselves for the good of the community.
