Crusade Of Prayer For Vocations To
The Priesthood And Religious Life
The Crusade of Prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious
Life takes place every Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.during
which time we have Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Parishioners
of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish pray during this period for an
increase of Vocations to the priesthood and religious Life in periods
of 30 or 60 minutes. It begins with Morning Prayer following the 7:30
a.m. Mass and concludes with Evening Prayer
at 4:45 p.m. Join us for any period of time each Friday. In addition
pray for Vocations every day in your life. The Catholic Church cannot
be the Church the Lord founded without priests to celebrate the mysteries
of the Lord in His Sacraments and without the dedicated vowed lives
of its religious.
Public Recitation of the Rosary
Every Tuesday night at 6:45 p.m. parishioners gather in the Convent
Chapel, Old Norwich Road, Quaker Hill (447-3550) to pray the 15
decades of the Rosary for Peace and Conversion. This fosters devotion
to Our Lady of the Rosary and asks for her intercession for Peace
and Conversion from sin.
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)
A group of adults wishing to become Catholics or wishing to update
themselves in Faith. This official process in the Catholic Church
is devoted to interested persons who seek knowledge of the Catholic
Church with the hope of becoming Catholic themselves. It invites
the non baptized person or persons already baptized as Catholic
but who have not been practicing their faith or those who have been
baptized in other Christian denominations who have a common interest
in learning more about the Catholic Church. Through this they may
become full members of the Church. It involves instruction, discussion,
prayer, and reflection.
It is conducted each Sunday after the 8:00AM in the Rectory from
September to May. And on one evening a week during November and
during the season of Lent. For additional information call the Rectory
(860) 443-1875. FAX (860) 437-9869

the Liturgical Year especially on special Liturgical Feasts and
occasions. At Christmas and Easter traditional Polish carols and
hymns are sung. The Choir rehearses every Thursday evening at 7:00

are the major thrust of this group open to all women who have an
interest in the life of the parish. Bake sales, the Christmas Fair
in October, and the Easter Supper (Sunday after Easter) and socials
for special occasions in the parish are just a few of the activities
that this dedicated group of women undertake for the good of all
in the parish. Join them! (For info, call the rectory)
Parish Family Group
This group of men and women come together to build community, foster
hospitality, and undertake charitable works for others. They sponsor,
organize and conduct Coffee after Sunday Masses, pot luck suppers,
outreach to sick and needy parishioners and musical programs. A
special gift-giving program during Advent is undertaken through
the Christmas Sharing Tree. Hundreds of gifts are collected and
given to designated places for those in need. The entire parish
participates in this and it is wonderfully successful. In addition
throughout the year nonperishable food is brought to weekend Masses
by the entire parish family and this Group sees to its distribution
to Catholic Charities. For more information contact Ginny Smith
